About the Role and Key Responsibilities As a tutor, you will work one-on-one with students aged 5-18, helping them build skills in Maths, English, and other essential subjects. Sessions are conducted in diverse settings, including our office, students’ homes, and public spaces like libraries, providing flexibility and a supportive learning environment.
Conducting engaging one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to students aged 5-19 in core subjects such as Maths, English, and other required areas
Assessing each student’s current knowledge, strengths, and areas for improvement, and creating personalised learning plans to meet their academic goals
Preparing students for exams and assessments by focusing on essential skills, study habits, and confidence-building
Thoughtfully planning each session, sourcing or creating relevant resources and materials to keep sessions effective and engaging
Creating a supportive, motivating atmosphere to help students feel confident and enthusiastic about learning
Experience in an educational setting, such as tutoring, teaching, or similar roles where transferable skills are applied
The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and styles
Flexibility and adaptability, comfortable working in various settings including the office, students’ homes, and public spaces like libraries
Reliability, self-motivation, and the ability to manage a flexible schedule
Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain
