The role
As a Commissioning Trials Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll play a key and influential role in the commissioning strategy, project management and planning of the maintenance projects here at our Combat Systems, HM Naval Base Clyde.
Day-to-day, you'll lead a commissioning team, ensuring tasks are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within an agreed budget and be responsible for commissioning and overseeing the maintenance of facilities, equipment and plant associated with Submarines.
* Act as Deputy Test Group Chairman to ensure all Test Documentation is fully authorised by stakeholders and meets specified requirements.
* Ensure effective management of the customer to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues.
* Co-ordinate testing and commissioning activities ensuring they are delivered in a timely and efficient manner within the agreed scope whilst providing advice on testing, commissioning procedures and documentation.
* Ensure team is technically competent, developed, deployed and fully capable of delivering the work required.
* Plan, execute and monitor progress to ensure end to end testing requirements meet the acceptance of equipment consistent with design, performance, safety, quality, and technical specifications.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Faslane, Helensburgh.
Essential experience of the Commissioning Trials Manager
* Proven supervisory experience with significant experience within a combat mechanical or combat electrical environment.
* Experience in complex commissioning and testing procedures and processes.
* Demonstrate people management and stakeholder engagement skills, be analytical and solutions driven with the ability to work autonomously.
Qualifications for the Commissioning Trials Manager
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC)
