👨🏫 The Role
As a DT Teacher (Resistant Materials), you will:
* Teach engaging and well-structured lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject coverage.
* Deliver a curriculum focused on design principles, practical skills, and the creative use of materials such as wood, metal, and plastics.
* Encourage students to explore problem-solving through design, using a range of traditional and modern techniques including CAD/CAM.
* Ensure safe and effective use of tools, machinery, and equipment, promoting excellent workshop practice.
* Contribute to the development and refinement of schemes of work and assessment strategies.
* Support extra-curricular activities such as clubs, competitions, and project-based learning opportunities.

We’re looking for a qualified teacher who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience teaching Resistant Materials or Product Design within the secondary age range.
* Has a good working knowledge of materials, workshop tools and processes, and is confident in managing a practical learning environment.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills, and can engage academically able students in both practical and theoretical work.
* Is committed to maintaining high standards in the classroom and promoting a love of design and technology.
* Works well within a team and values collaboration and continuous improvement.
