About the Role: As a Senior Finance Manager, you'll be a key link between Finance and Council Services, driving the delivery of quality financial information to support our city's ambitions. You'll lead a large finance team, ensuring accurate monthly management accounting and forecasting, and communicate financial performance to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a finance team of twenty staff in the service accounting team with four direct reports to produce accurate monthly management accounts and forecasts.
* Communicate financial performance to Directors, Business Leaders, Committees, and Elected Members.
* Enhance reporting processes and implement improved management information and KPIs.
* Provide comprehensive financial support across the organisation.
* Offer guidance on maximising resources and understanding service budgets.
* Maintain and improve internal control standards, processes, and procedures.

* Full CCAB/CIMA qualification.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to inspire confidence among stakeholders.
* Experience in staff management and large, complex accounting environments.
* Proven technical accounting skills, including forecasting, budgeting, and planning.
* Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
* High levels of personal effectiveness, particularly in coordination and organisation.
