The Role
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a qualified RGN/RMN registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council to join NHS Lanarkshire's Occupational Health Team.
This post will initially be based at one of the 3 main Hospital sites but the successful candidate may cover any site Lanarkshire wide. The ability to travel is essential; a valid full UK driving licence holder will be required for this position to meet the needs of the service. The shift pattern will be Monday to Friday – 08:30 am – 4:30 pm.
We require a highly motivated individual with proven clinical experience and excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a highly effective team. They should have an interest and desire to develop within this specialism. As part of the OH team, you will assist in the provision of services to meet the needs of NHS Lanarkshire, undertaking services as directed, and in line with NHS Lanarkshire Occupational Health, Safety and Return to Work Service (Salus), and NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures.
This can include:
1. Occupational assessments for a wide variety of reasons
2. Provide high-quality occupational health reports
3. Provide specialist advice to staff and managers
4. Support pre-placement processes
5. Support immunisation programs
6. Specialist health/fitness screening and assessment e.g. confined spaces; driver’s assessment
7. Health promotion
8. Support the development and day to day management of the wider team
9. Mental health support for staff

What we'll need you to bring
Training and/or qualification(s) required:
1. Registered General Nurse/current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
2. Evidence of ongoing training and continuing professional development relating to professional discipline
3. Evidence of knowledge or recognised training in spirometry, audiometry and the use of vision screening equipment (or willingness to undertake suitable training in the above)
4. Evidence of experience or recognised training in venepuncture
5. Evidence of experience or recognised training in presentation skills
6. Evidence of knowledge or recognised training in Microsoft Office systems
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have:
1. Experience of working within Occupational Health, ideally in the NHS
2. Competence with computer systems (word, excel, power point and databases)
3. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
4. Evidence of knowledge or recognised training in spirometry, audiometry, HAVs, venepuncture and the use of vision screening equipment (or willingness to undertake suitable training in the above)
5. Management Skills
6. Presentation Skills

Full time: 37 hours
Location and Working Pattern:
This role will be based in Beckford Street Hamilton. The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday – 08:30 am – 4:30 pm.
