Powertrain Test Engineer

Russell Taylor Group is working with a Global Testing Company who are looking to appoint a Powertrain Test Engineer who will be conducting engine performance, emissions, development, and durability tests for external customers.
REPORTS TO: Project Director
The Role:
1. Delivery of engine and/or powertrain component testing programs for clients.
2. Interpret customer test procedures and requirements.
3. Writing bespoke tests.
4. Writing clear and concise test instructions.
5. Daily status reports / End of test reports.
6. Ensure all test equipment meets customer requirements and is properly maintained/calibrated.
7. Consistently liaise with the customers in-house teams to ensure that the progress/direction of the project meets customer needs.
8. Ensure the delivery of accurate, repeatable, and traceable data.
9. Taking a proactive approach to fault diagnosis.
10. Liaise with test technicians to maintain a professional working relationship ensuring they are informed of project progress and/or changes.
The Person:
1. Several years of power-engine testing/mechanical experience.
2. Knowledge and hands-on experience of using ETAS INCA or alternative engine calibration tools and software.
3. Confidence with IT and corresponding systems.
4. Experience of managing data.
5. Confident Communicator with the ability to rapidly build a positive rapport.
6. Analytical & Motivated thinker.
7. Highly organised with a strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
Desirable Skills:
1. Engine particulate emissions experience.
2. Combustion analysis.
3. AVL Concerto (or similar).
4. Engine gas emissions testing.
