Description:
Morgan Stanley is looking for a network security engineer with a strong, broad background in network security design and technologies with specific focus on IoT/OT security. The position is in support of the OT/IOT Project with a primary focus to evaluate, design, and deploy a new IoT/OT discovery and monitoring solution to meet the business requirements.
The project includes delivery of robust, innovative, and effective security solutions and may include one or more of the following areas of technical coverage: evaluation, design, and deployment of IoT/OT Security solution; and/or design and integration of IoT Security solutions with Morgan Stanley network and systems.
The role will require detailed and clear documentation and effective communication to enable close collaboration across multiple cross-functional teams at Morgan Stanley. The resource will need to meet a series of deliverables over the next ~18 months due to legal and regulatory requirements.
This is an IoT Network Engineer position at VP level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist cyber expertise and creating solutions that protect the organization's systems and networks against actual and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
What You’ll Do:
1. Lead security design, proof-of-concept testing, certification and onboarding of Armis Centrix IoT/OT security solution.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to discuss, review and design the solution and integration.
3. Present designs/solutions to wider audience for input and review, including senior management or security teams.
4. Create network diagrams and related documentation to propose solutions.
5. Create new operational procedures/runbooks, as required.
6. Identify opportunities to develop tools and automation of managed products.
7. Diagnosis and troubleshooting of systems, networks, and applications as required.
8. Collaborating with project managers and members of the enterprise networking, enterprise computing, end-user computing, and/or tech risk organizations.
9. Provide expert level support for junior level operation teams on IoT/OT security solution.
10. Liaise, manage and govern vendor of IoT/OT security solution to provide world-class level of services.
Qualifications:
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
* Experience with OT/IoT protocols, e.g. MQTT, AMQP, CoAP, BACnet, Modbus, etc.
* Practical experience in designing and deploying security solutions associated with IoT/OT devices, e.g. occupancy sensors, indoor air quality sensors, BMS etc.
* Experience with IoT-related cloud concepts, e.g. Microsoft Azure IoT Hub and IoT Edge runtime (and/or AWS Greengrass).
* Familiarity with wired and wireless technologies, including WiFi, Bluetooth, 802.15.4 / ZigBee.
* Familiarity with agentless monitoring concepts, e.g. span ports, port mirroring, etc.
* Understanding north-south and east-west micro-segmentation best practices.
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills: capable of writing documentation, performing presentations to an internal audience, and interacting with senior management, colleagues and customers.
* Strong organizational skills and experience working on enterprise level projects, with peers in different locations and timezones.
* Strong interpersonal skills – communication, flexibility, self-driven, team player.
* A minimum of 6 years working in the IT sector with practical, hands-on experience with IoT/OT network security.
Desired Skills:
* Hands-on experience with IoT/OT security solution (e.g. Armis Centrix or Forescout).
* Experience with UNIX/Linux administration.
* Experience with Network Access Control (NAC) technologies, with particular focus on 802.1x and MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB), including Cisco ISE (or similar vendor solutions).
* Experience working with automation and scripting (e.g. Python, Ansible, third-party vendor APIs).
* Familiarity with basic networking, Cisco SD Access and DNA Center.
* Experience with large-scale network security design and documentation.
* Experience with threat detection and mitigation process for OT/IoT products.
