All Saints Catholic Academy Trust (ASCAT), and the Governing Body of St. Albert the Great Catholic Primary School, Hemel Hempstead, seek to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher to this happy and nurturing school. The successful candidate will work alongside an Executive Headteacher and Executive Deputy Headteacher, leading the school to continued success.
The Assistant Headteacher will provide strategic leadership and operational management, and will have specific responsibility for teaching and learning, curriculum development, and operational school leadership.
The post will be class-based with a teaching commitment of up to two and a half days per week, with the balance of the week dedicated to leadership responsibilities.
We are looking for a skilled, ambitious, and creative leader who can deliver and model exceptional teaching and learning. While we welcome applicants of all faiths and none, we do require candidates to demonstrate a commitment to upholding and embedding the distinctive and vibrant Catholic ethos of our schools.
St Albert the Great Catholic Primary School is situated in Dacorum Borough of South-West Hertfordshire, in a modern, accessible building with extensive outdoor facilities, including a MUGA and woodland area which provides Forest School learning. The school is led by an Executive Senior Team, who also have responsibility for St. Thomas More Catholic Primary School in Berkhamsted, and both schools work closely together under their leadership.
Following conversion to academy status in the summer term of 2023, St Albert the Great is now part of the St. Mark’s hub of All Saints Catholic Academy Trust, joining an established family of Catholic schools who provide mutual support and healthy challenge, working collaboratively to continually provide an “Outstanding Catholic Education for All.”
School visits are warmly encouraged prior to application and can be arranged through ASCAT’s central HR contact, Charlene Brown.
Interviews are planned for 31st March 2025.
All Saints Catholic Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to understand and share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, and at least two satisfactory references must be provided. Any other safeguarding checks that are required at the time of appointment will be applied to the pre-employment process. All offers of employment are conditional and subject to safeguarding checks being met successfully. The Trust reserves the right to withdraw an offer of employment should it deem pre-employment checks as unsatisfactory.
Following the shortlisting stage, and prior to making a final decision, the Trust/School will collect and process information publicly available about you by conducting a brief online search using an internet search engine. We do this to ensure that the school acts in accordance with its obligations set out in the latest version of KCSiE.
By signing the application form, I understand that I am giving my consent for the Trust/School to carry out an online search if I am shortlisted for this post. The search would be part of the Trust/School's due diligence in line with the latest KCSIE guidance and would be limited to identifying any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. I understand that the Trust/School might want to explore any such incidents or issues with me at interview.
