Role Overview:
As a Google Workspace Deployment Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in assisting customers in transitioning to and optimising their use of Google Workspace. This is a customer-centric role requiring technical expertise, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Expectations:
Travel Requirements:
* Up to 10% travel for customer site visits, conferences, and related events.
Customer Engagement:
* Actively participate in daily customer interactions, guiding them through the transition process and ensuring successful project completion.
* Lead customer meetings, present prototypes, and deliver presentations to establish trust and confidence both internally and externally.
Training & Onboarding:
* Comprehensive onboarding begins with a week-long orientation (managed by PeopleOps), followed by a 90-day department-specific training program.

Required Credentials:
Certifications:
* Google Professional Workspace Administrator Certification (required within the first 45 days of employment).
* Google Associate Cloud Engineer Certification (or equivalent) required within the first 180 days of employment.
Required Qualifications (Expertise in at least three of the following areas):
* Email Concepts: Understanding of MX records, DNS, Exchange/O365, spam/antivirus tools, and email routing.
* Active Directory: Lifecycle management and provisioning within Active Directory.
* Identity Management (IDM): Building identity models using platforms such as Google Cloud Identity, Okta, ADFS, or Azure.
* Mail Migrations: Migrating email systems to Google Workspace, following Google-recommended best practices.
* SharePoint Administration: Translating SharePoint use cases to Google Workspace, including identifying migration opportunities.
* Okta SSO & Lifecycle Management: Designing identity management models with Okta or HRIS systems.
Technical Proficiency:
* Hands-on experience with Google Workspace and related tools.
* Strong understanding of Google Workspace security and networking.
* Knowledge of traditional on-premises mail and collaboration technologies.
* Familiarity with cloud migration tools such as CloudM or Google Workspace Migrate.
Skills & Abilities:
* Confidently lead in-depth client meetings and workshops on topics such as discovery, compliance, and security.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
* Experience with engineering teams and the production of technical assets, such as architecture designs and documentation.
* Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Useful Qualifications:
* Experience with ChromeOS.
* Ability to develop scripts using Python, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script.
* Capable of recommending cloud-native solutions for customer challenges.
