We are seeking a Project Account Manager to oversee the delivery of consultancy and training services for high-profile, international industrial clients. This position will initially cover a 12-month maternity leave for an existing Project Manager but has the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent role encompassing Account Management of strategic client relationships.
Location: Office based at Kingsclere, Hampshire with hybrid working 2 days per week at home.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with globally recognized, industry-leading organisations and will be responsible for developing and managing service delivery projects, client relationships, budgets, risk, logistics, quality assurance, reporting, and change management.
Key Responsibilities as a Projects & Account Manager - Consultancy Services:
* Developing and managing projects and workstream scopes, resource plans, cost and earned value.
* Facilitating the day-to-day activities, performance and progress of various projects, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders as needed.
* Safeguarding both our company and our client against contractual and commercial risk.
* Play an active role in continuously improving the client account and project management processes.
* Monitoring planned versus actual progress and deliverables, proactive identification of potential constraints and opportunities, managing stakeholders' expectations, change management and structured capture and actioning of lessons learned.
* Ensure projects are fully resourced with appropriately skilled, informed and engaged consultants.
* Manage changes to the project through the appropriate change control mechanisms
* Develop and control deadlines, budgets, and activities.
* Working with Finance to optimise the contract and project earned value, including cost and risk control, revenue realisation and ‘added value’ outcomes (performance, exceeding client expectations, reputation, repeat/referral business opportunities).
* Managing the project delivery team (consultants, trainers, software services), including activity scheduling, logistics (with our Travel Coordinator), communications and workflow support
* Managing project close-out to review deliverables and client satisfaction and find new ways to improve business.
* Contribute to the development of improved methods, standards, tools and training for our project teams and our range of services.
* Contribution to, and delivery of, reports and presentations to different levels in the client organisation, from the Board-level (e.g. steering committees) to technical staff.
* Develop and deliver simple, meaningful dashboards for project and programme reporting
Person Specification as a Projects & Account Manager - Consultancy Services:
* Minimum 3 years Project Account Management experience and qualifications.
* Batchelors/Masters Degree, preferably in related field (business, engineering, finance, project management) or at least 5 years industry experience.
* Experience managing fluctuating numbers of projects ranging in size and delivery
* Demonstrable commercial, financial and risk management skills and experience
* Excellent IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office suite, project management software)
* Good analytical skills with the ability to handle complex, changing requirements with self-managing confidence
* Show active end to end involvement across multiple projects with the ability to handle the detail while retaining clear sight of the bigger picture
* Strong desire and ability to provide 'best in class' service
* Ability to tailor information for different audience types
* The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly (we are a small, mutually supportive team, so everyone needs to be able to step up and support as necessary)
* A full UK driving licence and be willing to travel overseas for short periods if needed (e.g. USA, Europe, Middle East)
