Ob Summary A highly supportive specialist primary school is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled KS1 Primary Teacher to lead a small class of students with special educational needs (SEN), specifically SEMH. Full-time, permanent position starting January Teach small classes of KS1 students with tailored learning plans Comprehensive training and career development opportunities Responsibilities and Duties Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of KS1 students with SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCo, therapists, and parents to support each child’s progress. Use a range of teaching strategies, sensory activities, and visual aids to ensure lessons are accessible and engaging for all students. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes confidence, social development, and a love for learning. Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to ensure every child achieves their potential. Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to provide consistent and effective support for students. Build strong relationships with parents and carers, maintaining regular communication to share progress and collaborate on learning strategies. Participate in staff training sessions, school initiatives, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in SEN education. Qualifications and Skills Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with experience teaching KS1 students. Proven experience working with students with SEN, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting. A strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, early years pedagogy, and behaviour management techniques. Patience, empathy, and creativity to support students with diverse learning needs. Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
