MAIN DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work directly with the Registered Manager to mentor and guide Care Support Workers in achieving high performance and operational success.
2. Quality Assurance: Implement and manage the quality assurance program for our services, including undertaking surveys to obtain feedback from clients and care support workers to inform service improvement, and collating and reporting on Quality Assurance questionnaires from stakeholders.
3. Quality Audits: Conduct regular internal quality audits on services, client records, support plans, staff files, and client daily records to identify issues as they arise and areas for improvement with specific regard to the CQC and Local Authority standards.
4. Audit Reports: Prepare and present quarterly reports on quality assurance activities and outcomes to the Nominated Individual.
5. Audit and report on all incidents/accidents/near misses and use the information gathered to recommend and inform policy and procedure reviews.
6. CQC: Support the manager with preparation for CQC and Local Authority inspections.
7. Policies and Procedures: Use QCS to ensure that policies and procedures are reviewed, updated, and shared with all staff members.
8. Risk Assessments: Support in developing and reviewing risk assessments and the implementation of risk mitigation plans for clients and staff.
9. Records: Maintain and ensure that office records and notes (electronic and in paper form) are accurate and up to date, including the correct storing of information in adherence to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
10. Meetings: Organise, attend, and minute meetings as required by the company.
11. Person-Centred Care: Foster an environment where person-centred care is at the forefront of service delivery, ensuring staff align with Astoria Homecare’s core values.
12. Maintain integrity when dealing with matters of client or staff confidentiality and meet GDPR requirements.
13. Carry out other duties as reasonably requested by management.
The ideal Candidate:
Essential
1. Fluent English (written and spoken)
2. Good understanding of the Care Quality Commission Regulations / Single Assessment Framework, quality statements, and evidence categories.
3. Knowledge of main issues in working with adults with complex needs (e.g. aging, physical disability, mental ill health, learning disability, autism, dementia, and challenging behaviour).
4. Collating and analysing data skills.
5. Excellent report writing skills.
6. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with people whose first language is not English.
8. Attention to detail.
9. Ability to use initiative within the context of your role.
10. Ability to multi-task.
11. Proactive approach to the role.
12. Good organisational skills.
13. Ability to take instructions and work to deadlines.
14. Flexible and adaptable.
15. The ability to work without supervision while adhering to company policies.
16. Experience of working to tight deadlines and dealing with a varied workload.
