£24,000 per annum (pro-rata), depending on experience

As a Patient Services Administrator in our Theatre department at our Haywards Heath Hospital, you’ll provide knowledgeable administrative and practical support to nursing and clinical staff, to standards and timescales required whilst using empathy and customer service skills to build relationships through great communication and IT skills. Ideally, you'll have experience of working in healthcare administration with an understanding of clinical terminology.
The Role
As a Patient Services Administrator, you will:
1. Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the standards and timescales required.
2. Handle queries within the remit of own role and escalate more complex / serious issues to senior staff where required.
3. Be point of contact for any visitors to Theatre department.
4. Deal appropriately with phone calls into the department.
5. Amend/changes to theatre list orders.
6. Secure anaesthetist information for theatre sessions.
7. Update the National Joint Register.
8. Be a Health & Safety representative.
9. Scan and archive documents.
10. Attend and minute take the Theatre team meetings.
The Person
To succeed as a Patient Services Administrator, you will have:
1. Experience in theatre and hospital administration processes.
2. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
3. Good IT and Keyboard Skills.
4. Good organisation and analytical skills.
5. Experience of working in a customer facing / medical environment.
6. Knowledge and understanding of clinical terminology.

With three operating theatres – 1 is laminar flow, comprehensive outpatient facilities including a 3T MRI scanner, an excellent onsite pre-assessment clinic, physiotherapy department and 26 en-suite rooms on the ward.
