Job Title: Seasonal Assistants
Location: Titchfield, Fareham
Salary: £10.00 – £21.21 per hour
Job type: Full-Time, Temporary 7 months Contract (Seasonal – April to September)
Hours: Week 1 = 32 hours, Week 2 = 48 hours. Average contract hours = 40. Working every other weekend.
With over 50 years of experience, Hambrooks pride ourselves on our knowledge and expertise. Not just on the design and build of every type of garden, but also on our horticultural knowledge. This means there is very little we do not know about gardens.
The show gardens at our Centre are for inspiration and for ideas to help customers make informed decisions about their gardens. Each garden has its own style and unique materials, allowing you to take individual aspects out of any of the show gardens to adapt in their outdoor space.
We are therefore looking for Seasonal Assistants to join the team to undertake a variety of jobs within a garden centre environment, along with a strong interest in horticulture.
About you:
Required Skills:
1. Candidates need to be 18+
2. Must have retail Sales experience ideally in a garden centre
3. A strong interest in horticulture
4. Working in sales and/or a customer service environment
5. Computer literate
6. Reliable
7. Lifting and moving stock
8. A positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
9. Able to use initiative
10. Enjoys working outdoors in all weather
Desirable Skills:
11. Plant/Horticulture knowledge
12. Forklift licence
13. Stock control and merchandising
14. Answering customer questions & queries on plants
Experience:
15. Floral & Gardens Centre Sales Assistants: 1 year (preferred)
