About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of French to join a welcoming secondary school in Wakefield. This is a part-time position starting ASAP and continuing through to the summer term. While the primary focus will be teaching French, you will also be expected to cover other subjects in a general capacity after Year 11 students complete their exams.
The school believes in equipping the students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to reach their full potential, both in their academic pursuits and in life beyond the school gates. Ofsted has rated the school as 'Good'.
Position Details
* Location : Wakefield
* Contract : Part time role (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
* Pay Rate : £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Excellent communication
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills
* Fluent in French with excellent pronunciation and grammatical knowledge.
* Ability to inspire and engage learners.
* Strong classroom management and discipline techniques.
* Familiarity with GCSE French curriculum and assessments.
* Flexibility and adaptability.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective French lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
* Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.
* Engage students with a range of cultural activities and real-world applications of language learning
* Monitor and support students' progress and development.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment.
* Collaborate with the MFL department to plan and deliver cohesive schemes of work.
* Encourage student participation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing tasks.
* Undertake general cover responsibilities for other subjects post-Year 11 exams.
* Support the pastoral needs of students within the school community.
* Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development activities
