Qualification:
* Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent) and UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent.
* Good understanding and experience of manufacturing products relevant to reman business.
* General awareness of Manufacturing Systems (CAD, CAM, CAPP, Manufacturing Execution System, Manufacturing Intelligence, SAP/AX, Technical Publications, etc.) relevant to the business.
* Has led projects/activities across a range of Manufacturing Engineering processes.
* Has experienced manufacturing change in a suitable combination of ways, such as facility re-design, facility move, technology insertion, new product introduction, process revalidation, quality improvement.
* Has provided technical and professional leadership to a team of Engineers.
Job purpose:
* To ensure that Product and process technologies are developed and implemented to ensure efficient processes and safe products to the market.
* Ensure manufacturing and process team perform according to company’s standards, be the overall supervisor and make sure that all tools, documentation and associated facilities are designed and implemented to produce safe & repeatable quality products at a given output Right First time.
* Supervise the scrap and salvage % and lead improvements/reduce all rates and contribute with his/her knowledge and guidance to reduce scrap cost adopting continuous improvement.
* The manufacturing process at any point must integrate ergonomic and H&S aspects without detrimental impact on the environment.
Specific Duties:
* Oversee development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
* Ensure Engineering team and other manufacturing functions are working together cohesively.
* Responsible for development of equipment to aid in manufacturing processes.
* Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements.
* Ensure Project and department goals & objectives are met and adhere to approved budgets.
* Provide leadership, develop and coach team of Engineers and technicians to ensure effective flow down and delivery of business and Engineering objectives.
* Design, procure, set-up and optimise manufacturing process (from tool to method).
* Product robustness optimisation by make or buy decision.
* Assess new purchased products, machineries, and equipment in regards of reliability, dimensional, and capability.
* Ensure Monthly reports are updated, reviewed and necessary actions for deviation in place.
* Ensure Quality Management system requirements are adhered to.
* Adopt latest techniques such as LEAN TOOLS, 6 SIGMA methodology, MOST Technique, VALUE Engineering etc., to evaluate the process and implement productivity improvements.
* Maintain and/or govern Production Technical document packages and key deliverables to achieve Operational and Functional objectives.
* Technical Authority for the facility, accountable for the Method of Manufacture and product & process compliance to OE design Intent.
* Ensure manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for legal, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time (i.e., Productivity, Scrap rate, Quarantine, FTQ, complaints, etc.).
* Integrate Capability Acquisition and Product Introduction activities into the production environment.
* Manage Engineering load/capacity plans and relevant budgets.
* Define and implement the budget and resources allocated.
* Ensure testing process, facilities, and associated documents are adequate to production compliance and necessary training compliance.
* Design to produce at objective cost and Productionise new programmes.
* Ensure standardisation of best practices across site.
* Manage investments / CAPEX in line with the needs of the production lines.
* Lead and facilitate site and group level communication developing strong links and collaboration with global stakeholders.
* Implement training plan related to process and product to satisfy future business requirements.
* Manage the detailed design and productionisation as well as modifications of parts during the life of the product in accordance with the specifications established.
* Ensure that continuous improvement is embedded across all operations.
* Consolidate budgets and KPI dashboards in line with the management goals & objectives.
* Ensure best ergonomic practices are integrated across the production process.
* Lead R&D team in all aspects of the R&D process, NPI launch and Manufacturing Engineering process for electrical product lines.
* Lead resolution in electrical products scrap reduction and customer claim reduction related to technology with effective problem solving.
* Lead new range product research and development from Project to Production, as a value-added product aligning business needs and goals and satisfying customer requirements.
* Sourcing technology services, R&D components, and plant equipment that are necessary for plant operation aligning each product group development strategy.
* To strive to achieve best in class remanufactured electrical products to the market.
* Management and control of documents relevant to R&D, NPI and Manufacturing in product and process development aligning with IMS requirements.
* Lead and own reverse engineering DFMEA and PFMEA process related to electrical products.
* To ensure ESD control in R&D lab and relevant production areas are meeting regulatory requirements.
* To ensure 5S are adhered within responsible area and monitor to control and improve, including waste disposal or reclaim in production.
* Prepare monthly reports and regularly communicate department performance and key achievements, challenges to manager.
* Prepare budget, monitor, control and report progress with variance analysis and mitigation actions.
* Lead Risk assessment for responsible function R&D, NPI and Manufacturing and other related activities.
* Responsible for up to date Bills of Materials within our production system.
* Develop, evaluate, set and optimise test parameters with a focus to meet customer expectation and requirements.
* Maintain original equipment cross-reference library including OE number.
* Raw Material/Component inspection and approval for new products.
* Ensure stakeholders are communicated and trained on new products introduced.
* Responsible for stakeholder meetings representing department and travel, if required.

Work Experience:
* Engineering experience in heavy-duty mechanical and electrical environment preferably within the automotive (supplier base or OEM) or heavy-duty machinery (steering product, diggers, electrical engines, etc.) in both Process and product management.
* 5-10 years in leading Engineering function.
* Experience in automotive electronics engineering with at least 3+ years in leading development, introduction and engineering or technological team and in Remanufacturing would be advantageous.
* Working with automotive and diagnostic equipment such as OBD2 scanners and electronics test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, etc.
* CAN data logging using CANalyzer or other CAN logging tools and interpretation is essential.
* Hardware & Software system analysis and troubleshooting.
* Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electrical/electronic product and process engineering and productionisation in an assembly environment essential.
Principle Area of Responsibility:
* To provide support and leadership to the manufacturing/process team but also commitment to Quality in regards to manufacturing processes.
* To lead research & development, introduction and productionisation of new technology in products and processes in line with new & current product range development strategies and business needs, ensuring business growth and maximisation of competitiveness in the marketplace.
* To lead technological problem resolution in products and processes related to technology in production and customer failure returns of products.
* To ensure that all new products introduced have the relevant documentation and tooling that meets safety standards & repeatable Quality product.
* To ensure business goals are deployed to R&D, NPI and Engineering team, specifically ensuring HS&E, Quality, and Efficiency in output.
* Create a successful team, through training, monitoring performance, effective communication, support, and encouragement.
