We are recruiting for an Audit & Accounts Senior on behalf of a successful, boutique, general accountancy practice that is enjoying a period of growth. You will be joining a firm that specializes in providing an extensive range of services to small and medium-sized businesses.

As Audit & Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with client meetings and dealing with client queries on accounting and taxation matters, identifying any issues.
2. Assisting with onboarding new clients, identifying and registering with HMRC for relevant taxes, advising new clients of accounting requirements.
3. Taking responsibility for key aspects of audit assignments such as planning, audit testing, file preparation, and assistance with finalization.
4. Assisting in leading audit teams and junior staff.
5. Preparation of larger year-end accounts assignments, corporation tax computations, and management accounts.
6. Reviewing VAT returns and bookkeeping.
7. Maintaining continuous and beneficial contact with clients and dealing with queries.
8. Monitoring time spent on engagements to ensure a commercial return for the business and invoicing of client work.
9. Assisting in the on-job training and development of junior staff.

We welcome applications for the position of Audit & Accounts Senior from candidates with the following skills, experience, and attributes:
1. ACCA/ACA qualified with at least five years’ experience gained within UK practice.
2. Competent in all aspects of audit, accounts, and taxation work for small/medium companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
3. Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of CCH Accounts Preparation/Pro Audit, Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero software is desirable.
4. Technically up to date.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Experience of staff supervision.
7. Knowledge of the billing process would be an advantage.
