A fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical Bias) to join the team at a global manufacturing company at a site in Irvine.
Our client is a global leader in the packaging industry with revenues of circa $9 billion. They invest heavily into their manufacturing facilities around the world and are passionate about sustainability and innovation.
As Maintenance Team Leader you will co-ordinate activities of the Mechanical and Facilities team ensuring high levels of equipment availability and efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
1. Delegate work to the team, ensuring high level of mechanical repair, installation and maintenance of equipment and factory services
2. Work closely with operations teams to respond to breakdowns and maximise performance
3. Minimise downtime by implementing effective preventative maintenance schedules and inspections
4. Plan and record all maintenance work and schedules via CMMS (SAP)
5. Provide hands-on technical support to the team
6. Ensure all equipment is available, order parts and manage critical spares
7. Contractor management; permits, risk assessments
8. Assist in planning and management of shutdowns
9. Manage time and attendance, holidays, return to works, employee feedback
Key Requirements:
1. Qualified Mechanical Engineer (C&G, NVQ 3, HNC)
2. Min 5 years' experience of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
3. Min 2 years' experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Team Leader or similar
4. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
5. Knowledge/experience of a Computerised Maintenance Management System - advantageous
6. Experience of engineering services; water, compressed air. Legionella - advantageous
7. Excellent leadership, coaching skills
8. Proactive with improvement mindset
9. Team player
10. Ability to promote change and continuous improvement
