We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Estimator to join our dynamic team in the sprinkler industry. As a Sales Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately assessing and estimating the cost of installing sprinkler systems for commercial and residential projects, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible solutions within their budget and timeline. You will play a key role in driving sales, supporting the growth of the business, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, and suppliers. Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for sprinkler system installation, maintenance, and upgrades based on client specifications, drawings, and site surveys. Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support throughout the sales cycle, ensuring that customer needs are met and that proposals are aligned with client expectations. Site Assessments: Conduct site visits to gather necessary data for estimations, identifying potential challenges and ensuring compliance with UK fire safety regulations and standards. Proposal Preparation: Create comprehensive, competitive, and professional proposals, outlining costs, equipment, and installation timelines. Supplier and Manufacturer Liaison: Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain accurate pricing for materials and equipment, ensuring the best possible cost for the project. Project Coordination: Work with the project management and technical teams to ensure that estimates are realistic and achievable within the project scope. Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and engineers, offering technical advice and assisting with any queries related to sprinkler systems. Regulatory Knowledge: Stay up to date with UK fire safety regulations, building codes, and sprinkler system standards (e.g., BS EN 12845, BS 9251, BS 9990). Cost Optimization: Suggest ways to reduce costs without compromising the safety, quality, or functionality of sprinkler systems. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Sales Estimator in the sprinkler/fire protection industry or a related field (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, or construction). Knowledge of fire safety regulations and sprinkler system design in the UK, including relevant codes and standards (e.g., BS 9251, BS EN 12845, BS 9990). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Full UK driving license and ability to travel for site visits. Desirable: Experience with sprinkler design software (e.g., SprinkCAD, AutoCAD). Fire protection qualifications or certifications (e.g., LPCB, FIRAS, XACT or FPA). Knowledge of project management principles.
