About the Role:
Our Manchester-based client, a leading IT company, seeks a talented and experienced Senior Commercial Counsel to join their dynamic in-house legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled commercial lawyer to contribute significantly to the growth and success of an innovative technology business.
As Senior Commercial Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's commercial strategy while mitigating legal risks. Your responsibilities will include:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including software licensing agreements, services agreements, and procurement contracts. Providing strategic legal advice to key business stakeholders, including sales, product development, and operations teams. Collaborating closely with external counsel to manage complex legal issues and litigation matters. Conducting in-depth legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Identifying and mitigating potential legal risks associated with new business initiatives.
About You:
Minimum of four years of post-qualification experience in commercial law, preferably gained within an in-house legal team at a technology company. Strong understanding of commercial law principles, including contract law, intellectual property law, and data privacy law. Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail and a pragmatic approach. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide practical legal advice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
