A primary school in the BL6 area is currently looking for a Year 1 Teacher for a scheduled absence from 12th May - 20th June 2025. The Senior Leadership Team have commented on needing a KS1 teacher who is confident around teaching Phonics. The school is interested in appointing an individual who is keen to contribute to the wider school community as well as willing to support and uphold the school's ethos and values.
About this role:
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will play an important role in delivering the curriculum and enhancing the learning experience of your pupils.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Planning, preparing and delivering your own lessons each day.
2. Marking and assessing the pupils’ work.
3. Giving your pupils the support and guidance they need to fulfil their academic potential and meet their goals (with a particular focus on working towards the phonics screener).
4. Managing behaviour in a classroom setting in line with the school’s behaviour policy and safeguarding measures.
5. Creating and sustaining a positive learning environment based on support in which your pupils can thrive.
Requirements for this role:
1. Applicants must have a QTS.
2. An ambitious individual who is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
5. Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure all children are happy and successful.
6. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
