Primary Teaching Assistant

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in South Shields. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to their progress.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping the teacher provide an engaging and supportive environment for pupils. You will support classroom activities, help pupils with their learning, and encourage positive behaviour.
Responsibilities as a Primary Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
* Work with small groups or individual children to boost their learning.
* Assist with planning and preparing classroom resources.
* Encourage children’s social and emotional development.
* Monitor and report pupils’ progress to the teacher.
* Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs.
To be a successful Primary Teaching Assistant, you should:
* Experience working with primary-aged children (desirable but not essential).
* A patient, caring, and approachable nature.
* A passion for education and child development.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* A flexible and proactive approach to tasks.
* Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
