Senior / Supervisor – Audit Location: Godalming Employer: Top 20 Accountancy Practice Recruiter: TPF Recruitment TPF Recruitment are working with a prestigious Top 20 accountancy practice that is looking for a Senior or Assistant Manager to join their audit team in Godalming. In this role, you will lead audits for a diverse range of small to medium-sized clients, managing a team of juniors and working closely with managers to ensure audit work is delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and provide training for audit semi-seniors and juniors, ensuring their development and the quality of work. Perform risk assessments and identify key audit areas. Utilize advanced audit techniques, including substantive testing and analytical procedures. Draft and review financial statements, including audit reports, and communicate findings with the audit supervisor/manager. Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards. Complete weekly timesheets and monitor the timely submission of expenses and timesheets by team members. Conduct staff appraisals for juniors at the conclusion of audits. Oversee the planning and execution of audit tests across various sections of the audit file. Review the work of junior staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance. Design audit tests to ensure efficiency and thoroughness. Deliver audit files in a state that minimizes review points from supervisors and managers. Collaborate with the tax department on provisions, computations, and returns. Prepare and review key audit documents, including audit highlights and going concern assessments. Ensure audit files are complete, including sensitivity analysis, risk assessments, and the comparison of forecasts. Requirements Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent internationally recognized accounting qualification. Previous experience in leading audits and managing teams. Strong technical competence in auditing and financial reporting. Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and team members effectively. Proactive, adaptable, and able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
