To be a member of the team at Breadalbane Community Campus concerned with the delivery and development of the Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing Programmes on site and in the wider community., Operational Duties
* To lead and direct the 'front of house' operational team by example and maintain a constant high profile 'front of house' management team presence for staff, customers and key stakeholders through regular planned interaction.
* To undertake the allocation of staffing duties, performance and effectiveness monitoring, work practices and general supervision to ensure the highest standards of safety, service delivery, cleanliness and customer satisfaction
* To attend first aid cases and administer remedial treatment as required
* To assist with the setting out and clearing away of equipment as required
Programme Delivery
Key Tasks
* Organise and deliver a wide range of physical activities across the Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing business streams within Breadalbane Community Campus and the surrounding community
* Carry out administrative duties in connection with the efficient operation of the swimming lesson programme and other activities being delivered
* Contribute to developing programme content for the continued progress of classes across the Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing business streams
* Work with the Duty Management team to manage the swimming lesson programme
* Regularly carry out and record safety checks for equipment and facilities used to deliver programmes
* Work with the Duty Management team to produce material for the marketing and promotion of programmes across Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing business streams
* Assist in the recruitment and development of coaches and instructors
* Work closely with facility-based staff at all levels to ensure the effective operation of the Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing programmes.
* Organisation and preparation for classes taught, including session plans, class lists and booking of facilities
* Arrange appropriate equipment for classes
* Carry out regular audits of class equipment and work with the Duty Management team to manage equipment and arrange repair or replacement when required
Health and safety
Key Tasks
* To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation
* To ensure that any defect or damage to the building or items of equipment is reported to management of facilities
* To contribute to the review of safe operating procedures and ensure that they are further developed and fully understood and implemented by all staff
* To ensure programmes are delivered in-line with operational polices and guidelines
Training
Key Tasks
* To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally
* Assist in regular in-house or external training for coaches and instructors
* Work with new and less experienced members of staff to assist with their development in line with delivery of programmes in the Children & Young People, Fitness and Wellbeing programmes
General
Key Tasks
* To ensure you are physically fit to carry out your duties at all times
* Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines
* To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required
A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential. A Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification (or equivalent) is also essential - or to be obtained within 6 months of appointment. A Gym Instructor Level 2 is essential - or to be obtained within 12 months of appointment.
