Scotland and Eastern Region Project & Planning Interface Manager The CrossCountry timetable is at the core of the offer we make to our customers and is hugely important to our business. In this role you will play an integral part of our Train Planning team, which produces the timetable. Working within the Access Planning team you will: Lead access and planning interface with Network Rail London North Eastern, Scotland & East Midlands route in relation to future schemes Commission and/or undertake timetable and diagramming feasibility studies in relation to future schemes, working within the framework of the Timetable Review Group Be the main point of contact within CrossCountry in relation to the Transpennine Route Upgrade Project Represent CrossCountry at NR Project meetings and work with them to align project and XC objectives at all levels Apply Project management principles to plan and develop major project mitigations and contingencies Assist long-term business development within the train planning process on behalf of CrossCountry for the London North Eastern, Scotland & East Midlands routes Undertake liaison and negotiation with Network Rail, DfT, ORR, freight and train operators on the LNE, Scotland and East Midlands routes to achieve strategic business aims for CrossCountry and safeguard project objectives and benefits Provide specialist input into industry-wide strategic planning processes, acting as the champion for CrossCountry’s business priorities Negotiate Engineering Access proposals with Network Rail for the London North Eastern & East Midlands route, evaluating and responding to proposals in line with agreed industry processes Work within the framework of the Rules of the Resource and influence the possession planning process so that these requirements are factored into Network Rail possession planning As required, provide specialist input into period plan and other applicable meetings to discuss forthcoming engineering access proposals, acting as the champion for CrossCountry’s business priorities Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvements to train planning processes and systems To be successful in this role you must clearly demonstrate on your application the following skills and experience: • Current train planning experience in the area relevant to the Access Planning • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) • Ideally have Project Management skills and experience working closely with a variety of stakeholders • Ability to manage your workload independently • Experienced in maintaining excellent attention to detail, working in an analytical way using evidence and data and meeting deadlines • Equipped with excellent IT skills and an ability to learn how to use new systems • A drive to improve processes to implement faster, smarter and more accurate ways of working More importantly you must be able to bring in new ideas, willing to question the ‘norm’ and implement improvements so we effectively respond to our customer needs.
