We’re all about possibilities. Are you?
Do you like going to local parks and have a love of cats? Are you a positive, outgoing person who enjoys going out on trips and spending time in the local community and surrounding areas? Do you have patience and empathy?
Become a Support Worker.
What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.
You will be supporting individuals who have moved into their own home for the first time, so it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. From making a cuppa on their own to finding their place in the community by attending music events, sports, swimming, and much more. For this role, it is essential that you have experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities, autism, and complex needs, this can be personal or professional.
The people we support like to get out on day trips and trips out in the local community, so you will need to be a driver and willing to drive your own vehicle where you can claim your mileage back.
The shifts for this role will be a mixture of long days, early and late shifts, and will include some weekend working.
So if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate, and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.
Ability to commute/relocate: To NR5 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
What will we do?
We have a range of benefits that you can mix and match to suit you, such as:
* Care Friends - our employee referral and reward app. You’ll receive points which can be exchanged for extra money.
* Wagestream – an app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback, and more.
* Blue light card – we will reimburse your Blue Light Card membership which provides discounts in your favourite shops and restaurants.
* Simply Health - Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24-hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians, and access to many more health benefits.
* Vivup– spread the cost of home and electronics items, or a bike to cycle to work through fixed salary reductions throughout the year.
* Buy and sell annual leave – transfer windows open twice a year.
* Pension and Life Assurance – you’ll be enrolled into our Scottish Widows pension scheme and Life Assurance scheme.
What will you do?
Supporting individuals is incredibly meaningful, and it goes beyond just outings and activities. We also assist people in managing their medications, making healthy lifestyle choices, and maintaining their homes to ensure they feel safe and well. While it may sound exciting that no two days are alike in this role, we understand that for some, routine is comforting and change can be challenging. However, there’s nothing quite like the joy of helping someone embrace new experiences and discover their potential! If you want to empower people to live the life they choose and you share our values… Apply to become a Support Worker today.
