As the Head of Internal Communications, Digital and Tech, you will oversee a comprehensive internal employee engagement program for Global D&T, communicate D&T initiatives to the enterprise and ensure understanding and pull through of our company strategy with D&T employees.
You will be responsible for setting the tone for executive and enterprise-wide internal communications in Digital & Tech.
You will report to the Vice President, Digital and Tech Global Communications and Government Affairs, and work in close partnership with some Tech LT members.
The successful candidate will be a proven leader, masterful storyteller and writer (ability to write for leaders in their unique style and voice) as well as a strategic thinker who naturally and fearlessly tries new ways of galvanizing audiences by deploying abundant creativity to motivate, inspire and drive behaviors and actions while understanding the Tech environment and culture.

This role is part of the Global D&T CGA team which helps grow internal and external confidence in GSK’s ability to apply tech to our work. Through their communications, the team also helps attract and retain tech capable talent and future partners.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Crafting communications that inspire leaders and staff at large-scale broadcasts to intimate gatherings
* Partnering with our Chief Technology and Digital Office (CTDO) and other leaders to deliver impactful quarterly results communications to employees highlighting important topics/updates/milestones and ensuring pull through on all appropriate channels
* Engaging leaders through virtual and face-to-face engagements to lead with heart and purpose
* Creating and managing an authentic internal social media presence (i.e. writing for Workplace/Workvivo, video scripts, meetings messages) for the GSK CTDO and other Tech leadership team members, as needed
* Support the CTDO with briefings in advance of and during key engagements
* Collaborate closely with other leads on critical DEI initiatives
Additionally, you will:
* Be a guardian of our Tech messaging, ensuring consistent delivery of tech messaging, evolving it as necessary and enabling leaders and stakeholders to deliver consistent tech messaging with passion, including helping identify new proof points and helping leaders and relevant stakeholders adopt a consistent voice to tell our story
* Lead Tech to GSK communications, which includes topics like GenAI and Digital Fluency enterprise comms plans and events, like the company-wide DataCon awareness and educational day, as well as Cybersecurity
* Partner with BU Tech leaders and Communicators to support GSC (Global Supply Chain), RD (Research and Development), Commercial and other functions’ needs, amplifying success stories internally on how the use of Tech helps accelerate performance and deliver results
* Lead products operations communications, setting the strategic direction and clarity when communications are issued to the enterprise in new Tech products and solutions roll-out
* Lead Tech-To-Tech communications strategy, including Executive internal communications, Let’s Talk direction and briefings for site visits, Organisational announcements (for Tech LT level only), and Global messages and plans adaptation to Tech (like GSK Survey results, Q results, etc.)
* Connect across the Global CGA team, with a structured approach to sharing information and working with colleagues in key functions– You will represent Tech at the Internal Engagement Leadership Team
* Help align embedded communicators in Tech Teams on global tech messaging and plans, including at Tech sites/hubs.
* While this team will not have direct reports (FTE), this role will manage a small team of contractors (CW) who support Tech to GSK initiatives and will be responsible for directing support from the Internal Engagement dynamic resource team for specific projects
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with the required skills to achieve our goals:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
* 10 or more years’ experience in internal and external as well as corporate communications with specific experience in Tech environments
* Impeccable writing and analytical skills as well as a proactive and creative mindset
* 7 years or more of communications strategy experience
* 7 years or more of project management experience, including the management of matrixed teams
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
* Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry
* A proven communications leader with a track record of success inspiring high-performance teams and changing cultures
* Master’s degree
* Experience with metrics-based communications planning
* Leadership experience and confidence providing strategic counsel to senior executives (SVP and above)
* Experience with media drivers and practices; ability to use that information to inform judgment on communications strategies and tactics
