Job Title: CNC Turner Programmer, Fanuc
Job Type: Permanent
Shift: Days Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm Friday 7:30- 12:30pm
Overtime x 1.5
Salary: From £30k to £45k
Based in Oldham, our client has been established for over 60 years, ISO 9001 accredited and services a wide range of industries, from Agriculture, MOD, Compressors, and Industrial Gas Equipment amongst others. Batch sizes vary from 1 off through to 200 off with tolerances varying by customer and work type.
They require a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter for a busy, fast-paced sub-contract machine shop.
They operate 12 CNC lathes, Mori Seiki, Okuma, and Nakamura, some with live tooling. All controls are Fanuc based. Alongside the turning section, they have 10 Haas machining centres.
About the Role:
1. You need the ability to program from drawings and edit on the machine.
2. Program, set, and operate CNC Lathes with live tooling.
3. Carry out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
4. Cad/Cam One CNC would be an advantage.
5. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
6. 39 hours per week.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Will have undertaken an apprenticeship and must have previous engineering experience and be able to read/edit and write programs.
2. You will be responsible for the setting and running of two machines.
3. Fully conversant using Fanuc controls.
4. Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
5. Responsible for quality.
6. Enthusiasm to produce the best possible quality.
7. Experience working with tight tolerances and deadlines.
8. Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
9. Experience of working to own initiative.
10. Good interpersonal/communication skills.
