The school caters for children aged 4 to 11 years with a range of complex needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, and speech, language and communication needs and physical disabilities. The dedicated staff team works closely to create a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment where each child is supported to thrive both academically and emotionally.
The school was rated “Good” by Ofsted, with inspectors praising the high-quality care, skilled staff, and the positive, engaging learning environment. Pupils are happy, safe, and encouraged to reach their full potential through tailored learning approaches, therapeutic support, and close collaboration with families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional needs
* Assisting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons
* Supporting children with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
* Promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
* Contributing to the development and implementation of individual learning plans
* Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one at own cost before starting
