Stanlake Park Wine Estate has been producing award-winning wines in Berkshire vineyard since 1979. Our bustling Cellar Door, featuring a Wine Bar & Shop, welcomes thousands of visitors each year, and we host a wide variety of events, from vineyard tours and tastings to weddings and corporate gatherings.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and friendly Cellar Door Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work at one of Berkshire’s leading wine estates, where no two days are the same, especially for someone who’s looking to build a career in wine.
About the Role
As a Cellar Door Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional hospitality, hosting engaging wine tours and tastings, and assisting with the smooth running of our Wine Bar and Shop. You’ll be at the heart of the experience on their most busy days. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, organised, and passionate about wine.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting up, hosting, and guiding wine tastings and tours
* Assisting with sales in the Wine Shop and providing advice to customers
* Supporting service, food preparation, and drink service in the Wine Bar
* Assisting the Cellar Door Manager with organisation, stock control, and orders
* Helping with events, private bookings, and other hospitality duties
* Opportunity to assist with cellar and vineyard work (if of interest)
Requirements:
* A genuine interest and good level of knowledge in wine is essential
* Formal wine qualifications are a plus but not required – full training provided, including WSET qualifications
* Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service is desirable
* Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Outgoing and confident in engaging with guests
* Hard working and pro-active
* Reliable, well-presented, and a good team player
* Available to work Thursday to Sunday, with full-time hours condensed into these four days
* Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
