Band 1 Pt 2-3 Playworker (unqualified) FTE £23,656 to £24,027
Actual salary based 12 hours per week - £7,831 to £7,953 per annum
or Band 2, Pt 4-5 Playleader (qualified*) FTE £24,404 to £24,790
Actual salary based 12 hours per week - £8,078 to £8,206 per annum
* NVQ2 or equivalent qualification
Term time only with a possibility of holiday club hours
9 hours a week to be worked as follows
Term time 3 nights a week, TBC - 3pm to 6pm (after school club)
School Holidays - shifts may be combined/changed in the school holidays

We are looking for a 1:1 support playleader to work in our popular Out of School Club. The highly regarded Out of School Club, known as “Wishing Well”, is run by Wellfield Infant and Nursery School. It has been included as part of our last two Ofsted Inspections, where we received an Outstanding outcome on both occasions. The club provides for pupils aged 3 to 11 years from both our infant school and Wellfield Junior School. The two schools share a large and attractive site with plenty of outdoor space. Due to the rising number of pupils using this facility we are currently looking to expand our team.
The role will involve working in close partnership with the club manager and the rest of the team to:
Provide 1:1 support to a child with autism and sensory needs
Plan for and deliver a range of play activities
Support and supervise the children in the club, including those with SEND, both indoors and outdoors
Support the rest of the club team with ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to
Maintain good relationships with parents and carers
The successful applicant will:
Have experience of working with children with autism and sensory needs/SEN
Hold a Level 2 NVQ in Playwork or Childcare or other L2 or above qualification relevant to the job role (for the qualified pay scale). For the unqualified role, no qualification is necessary.
Have a sound understanding of Safeguarding children
Have experience of working with and planning recreational activities for children aged 3 to 11 years and the ability to work on own initiative
Be an effective communicator and an enthusiastic team player
Be reliable and keep to good timekeeping
Understand the importance of their role within the wider school team and remain professional at all times
Hold a current Paediatric First Aid Certificate, (or be willing to undertake the training)
Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate (or be willing to undertake the training)
