We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Teacher to join our talented team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging and inspiring lessons that meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every child in your class has the opportunity to thrive. You will play a key role in the academic and personal development of our pupils, using a creative curriculum and a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate.
At Davenies, our vision and mission is to Engage, Inspire and Challenge each child that attends the School. This enables every boy to make the most of their preparatory years and begin their educational journey in exactly the right way.
Davenies is a vibrant and inclusive school dedicated to providing a warm, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment. We pride ourselves on nurturing a passion for learning and supporting each child's unique potential. Our team is committed to fostering a sense of curiosity, creativity, and independence in our students.
Year 3 & 4 brings an additional lesson from the Pre-Prep each day, and a broader curriculum. With two classes per year group, the boys are predominantly taught by their class teachers, as well as by subject specialists making the best use of our excellent teaching and learning facilities. Classrooms are spacious and well-resourced; there is also ample indoor and outdoor break out space adjacent to the classrooms for extending the learning experience. Class teachers are supported by a Teaching Assistant, both pastorally, and for Maths and English lessons.
The curriculum encompasses English, Mathematics (adopting a Singapore Maths style approach to teaching and learning), Science, History, Geography, Religious Studies and PSHE with the addition of specialist teaching for Art, Computing, Design Technology, Drama, Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish), Music, PE & Games, and Swimming. The breadth and challenge of the curriculum makes for a purposeful programme that is well supported by co-curricular activities.
The boys increasingly use technology to enhance their learning experience, with a class set of iPads to boost creativity and collaboration in Year 3, and in Year 4 the boys are provided with their own iPad to use, which will be their own personal learning companion as they move up the school. In this way, they can use specific learning apps and software to enrich their understanding and communication skills. The boys learn to share and collaborate through paired and group work, building positive relationships and developing self-confidence.
Additionally, all the boys have opportunities to join in the extra-curricular activities offered, to play in sporting fixtures against other schools and perform publicly in drama and music.
