RAC are looking for a Trading Director who will work within our Insurance division. This newly created senior leadership role offers a unique opportunity to define and drive our trading and retention strategies, ensuring sustainable commercial success. Reporting directly to the CEO of Insurance, you will be responsible for acquiring new RAC insurance members across multiple products and channels while developing a compelling retention strategy to optimise long-term value. Leading a team of 5-10 professionals across trading, commercial, pricing, and finance functions you will directly manag e key routes to market, including Price Comparison Websites (PCWs) and strategic partnerships. What you will do Deliver >300k new Insurance members annually in line with agreed IPP/LTV metrics. Achieve a 60% retention rate through a strategic, data-driven approach. Set budgets and 5 year plan, in collaboration with the Commercial and Product Director, across IPP, volume and LTV targets Deliver continuous testing and pricing optimisation to overdeliver against planned performance Constantly assess volume vs value scenarios making clear, data driven recommendations on trading options and choices Ensure trading strategy delivers improved underlying cash performance for the Insurance business Drive and influence requirements from a trading perspective with the panel Set clear direction with financial outcomes to direct the actions of the pricing team Create compelling trading strategies and promotional plans for all products Use trading data, market and competitor insight to inform and build clear trading plan Deliver analytical insight and reporting with clear recommendations on trade performance and actions Key leader of the Insurance Division, helping shape the divisional strategy and lead our overall divisional ambitions. Ensure adherence to SM&CR regulations, taking accountability for compliance and governance. Proven ability to leverage customer insights and market data for a competitive trading edge. Demonstrated success in trading strategy, pricing optimisation, and retention modelling. Experience in financial services, insurance, or a relevant retail sector. Previous exposure to regulated environments and FCA/PRA compliance.
