We're looking for a dynamic People & Capability Manager to take the lead in shaping our workforce and driving our people strategy forward! In this pivotal role, you'll oversee all aspects of recruitment, training, learning & development, performance management, organisational development, and employee relations. About The role | Mō Te Tūnga In this role you will:
* Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders on P&C matters, championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
* Develop best-practice P&C policies and processes across all SST services.
* Provide expert advice on employment relations, change management, performance, talent, workforce planning, and learning initiatives.
* Be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, modelling leadership behaviours and foster a high-performing People & Capability team.
* Design and deliver people programs, including L&D, remuneration, leadership development, and talent management.
* Enhance staff retention through effective onboarding, mentorship, and career growth opportunities.
* Drive succession planning to ensure leadership continuity and sustainability.
* Lead staff wellbeing, resilience, and spiritual care initiatives with sensitivity to mental health needs.
* Ensure HR policies are legally compliant, trauma-informed, and aligned with best practices.
* Manage remuneration and benefits in line with sector benchmarks and organisational capacity.
* Foster a supportive, trauma-informed workplace, creating safe spaces for staff concerns.
* Support spiritual formation and team building to strengthen belonging and purpose.
* Conduct staff engagement surveys and drive continuous improvement.
About you | Mōu Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, competencies, abilities, and attributes:
* Tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Psychology, or a related field.
* 5+ years’ experience in P&C/HR management, ideally in the NFP/NGO sector.
* Healthcare (24/7) experience is highly desirable.
* Strong NZ employment relations knowledge, including relevant legislation.
* Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and SST’s bicultural journey.
* Passion for serving vulnerable tāngata, with excellent communication skills.
* Compassionate, discreet, and professional, maintaining strong boundaries.
* Skilled in problem-solving, balancing strategy with service delivery.
* Clear Police Check & VCA vetting.
