Job Title: Bookkeeper Location: Slough (Office-Based) Salary: £30,000 - £36,400 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records, including sales and purchase ledgers. Process invoices, expenses, and payments efficiently. Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are kept up to date. Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims. Produce monthly financial reports for management. Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required. Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets, and manage financial forecasts. Handle credit control to ensure timely client payments. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role. Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Sage. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Strong understanding of VAT returns and HMRC regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Excel with advanced spreadsheet skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Qualifications: AAT qualification (or equivalent) preferred but not essential if experience is extensive.
