The Residential Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the standards in accommodation, ensuring that these properties are in compliance with all applicable regulations and meet the needs of our diverse student population.
This pivotal role is largely self-managed, requires strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to our students and guests. The role requires a broad understanding of the activities required to ensure the smooth and efficient property management of the accommodation to ensure students receive the best possible experience of living on our campuses.
As a Residential Services Manager you can expect to be involved in:
* Act as the main liaison between the Accommodation, Conference, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Health & Safety teams to ensure the accommodation meets all required standards and relevant UUK regulations.
* Investigate and, where appropriate, respond to any complaints received by the Accommodation Office that relate to standards of the accommodation, proposing and implementing improvements to current working methods to avoid future complaints.
* Take a leading role in meetings and working groups relating to accommodation standards including accessibility and sustainability, with a focus on continuous improvement of provision.
* Take a leading role in liaising with our Accommodation partners such as UPP and Unite to ensure that the accommodation meets the needs and expectations of our students and guests. This will involve some travel between the Canterbury and Medway campuses.
What will you bring to the role:
* Formal qualifications to A level, NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
* Proven experience in student accommodation management, hotel management, facilities management, or a related field.
* High level of literacy and excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with students, guests, and staff at all levels.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines, managing competing deadlines within a varied workload.
* Proficiency in administrative tasks and computer systems including Microsoft Office software.
