In order to help us achieve this, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and committed Diabetes Clinical Specialist (Band 7) registered nurses to join our temporary staffing bank.

The post will incorporate the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role dimensions of expert clinical practice, education, leadership, management and research.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be required:
1. To liaise with all key members of the multidisciplinary team to advise and support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care across professional boundaries.
2. To provide support with the Virtual Wards (VW) for Diabetes across RFL sites. Liaising with relevant members of VW MDT and actively monitoring patients remotely through technology.
3. To work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care appropriate to the needs of the patient group and based on principles that are research based and which enhance the quality of patient care.
4. To contribute to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for a designated group of patients.
5. To contribute to training and education within specialist area.
6. To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through reviewing the evidence base and embedding this in practice through engagement in research activities.
7. To act as a visible role model and expert practitioner.
This role will primarily be focused on our technology enabled diabetes virtual ward and therefore remote working can be supported.

* Substantial post-registration experience in area of speciality
* Previous experience of research and audit
* Evidence of teaching junior members of staff

* Undertaken nurse led clinics
* Current experience of line management of staff
Education & Qualifications
* Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification
* Post registration qualification relevant to specialty
* Advanced assessment skills
* Masters degree or working towards
* Independent nurse prescribing course or willingness to undertake
