About The Role We have a fantastic opportunity for Distribution Manager to join our team in Wrexham. As Distribution Manager for the Cable & Components business you will lead a 30 team, responsible for the goods inwards, home and export distribution, cable and components finished goods stock control and management of carriers and service providers. The focus is on achieving logistics objectives, including key customer service measures such as on-time delivery, while ensuring maximum efficiency at minimum cost. Responsibilities Oversee the logistics department's daily activities, including goods inwards, finished goods, components, cable cutting, and planning allocation. This includes recruitment, people management, manpower planning, training and development, and performance management. Deploy suitably skilled labour and manage efficient resource utilisation with a focus on productivity and continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies at all times. Complete 6S audits, safety audits, inspections, and close out actions. Achieve and maintain high levels of customer service. Responsible for KPIs such as on-time delivery, on-time in full, cost per tonne, and despatch lead time. Maintain relevant knowledge of management plans, indirect labour costs, production plans, and material availability. Manage relationships with subcontractor companies for transport and drum teams, ensuring any issues are resolved and procedures are followed. Use SAP for reporting and goods receipting. Manage invoice queries, receipting transport invoices, and incoming affiliate cable processes. Support the operational management of contracts with 3rd party suppliers for packaging and distribution. Develop positive relationships with carriers, hauliers, and other logistics service providers. Qualifications & Requirements Ideally hold previous experience within a manufacturing, logistics, distribution or similar environment Proven experience in a high-volume operational department and managing a team. Self-motivated with excellent communication skills. Ability to lead, motivate, coordinate, and direct a team of operators to achieve departmental targets and objectives. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office Applications and SAP.
