Brief Description
You'll be joining the Finance and Business Support function which is part of the corporate structure within the Route Services directorate. Your role involves supporting the function to deliver services that are vital to the running of the railway, delivering the provision of services agreed by the routes to allow them to benefit from economies of scale and the optimisation of our critical resources.
To provide professional support to the functions and key stakeholders of multiple systems used across the business. To provide technical and operational support and guidance. To act as subject area expert for all relevant Business Systems.
About the role (External)
What will you be doing?
1. Maintain integrity of systems for all users and provide system administration with regards to access and security.
2. Support in the development of new systems and improve current systems as identified.
3. Maintain user guides for all systems, their purpose, requirements and users.
4. Assist in preparing business areas for transition to new ways of working when business systems are implemented or altered.
5. Assist in the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
6. Investigate faults reported by users through various channels, applying a priority to each and tracking that corrective action has been taken, liaising with other business areas to expedite resolution.
7. Familiarity with Web based Applications.
8. Excellent analytical skills in a technical or systems related environment.
9. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
10. Previous experience of managing multiple work streams to ensure priority is correctly identified.
11. High level of IT Literacy.
12. Excellent telephone manner and a customer focused approach.
13. An understanding of Network Rail’s operating and logistic processes.
14. An understanding of Supply Chain, Procurement or Asset Management processes, hierarchies, and legislation.
15. Previous experience of Network Rail Systems such as Oracle, SharePoint, NROL3, Maximo, & Bravo.
16. Experience of test environments to identify and develop solutions.
