Over the past three years we have worked in partnership with local authorities to help them improve their services for children and families and seen them succeed. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Partners in Practice team in Stockport Family and to bring your skills, experience, knowledge and wisdom to our Sector Led Improvement programme with other local authorities in partnership with the Department for Education. As part of the Partners in Practice team, advance practice supervisors are responsible for supporting, coaching and enabling practitioners, social workers and leaders to deliver excellent practice with children and families. The work is varied and challenging but very rewarding and provides a great opportunity to contribute to the improvement journey of services. Alongside the Principal Lead for Partners in Practice and innovation you will draw up plans of support to meet the needs of local authorities. Key to the role is building effective, restorative relationship to understand the key challenges to social work practice and provide support collaboratively to address those needs through a jointly agreed plan. This work may include a variety of tasks including auditing and moderation of practice, diagnostic and peer review activity, delivery of training, facilitation of large scale workshops, engagement with partners and multi-agency working; one-to-one support, coaching and mentoring amongst others. Advance practice supervisors also provide support in the drive to excellence and quality services within Stockport Family. This work includes leading on specific programmes of work to address areas of practice; supporting the leadership team in carrying out key quality assurance activities such as observation, review and analysis of services delivered to children and families. The role also includes the supervision of social workers, team leaders and other practitioners as required and providing support to the service leads, and principal leads across Stockport Family. About You You will be child centred, restorative in your approach and be passionate about making a difference for children and families. You will have considerable knowledge and experience in social work with children and families, be a qualified social worker and experience of being a team leader in children s services. You will be a confident practitioner who can work autonomously and well as part of a team, and have experience of supporting individuals and services to improve practice and achieve positive outcomes. You will have experience of the key tasks within the role of the advance practice supervisor and have excellent communication skills so that you can be you an ambassador for Stockport Family and our values and build effective and collaborative. You will be knowledgeable and committed to working restoratively and using systemic social work to work with children and families.
