About the Opportunity
Join Contentful as a Software Engineer (f/m/d) with our Content Storage Infrastructure team. This role focuses on providing and operating efficient and resilient content storage at scale.
You’ll join a team of thoughtful, collaborative engineers who support each other, share knowledge freely, and work closely with product teams. What to Expect
1. You’ll work a core part of Contentful, our content storage databases
2. You’ll work with AWS using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices
3. You build and run several components around the content storage and space lifecycle written in TypeScript and Go
4. You’ll collaborate across domains and teams to unlock new product features
5. You’ll work to improve scalability, efficiency and resilience of our systems
6. You’ll help us stay ahead of operational risks - anticipating bottlenecks or failure points before they cause problems.
7. You’ll be involved in incident response, postmortems
What You Need to Be Successful
8. Proven experience in software development with a strong understanding of building resilient and scalable systems
9. Experience with PostgreSQL and or Kafka
10. Strong AWS knowledge across core services: RDS/Aurora, EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS/SQS, etc.
11. Terraform expertise for infrastructure provisioning
12. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (TypeScript or Go preferred)
13. Problem-Solving Skills: Natural problem-solver who brings forward ideas leading to practical solutions and product growth.
14. Adaptability: Ability to organize and prioritize competing workloads in a fast-paced environment.
15. Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written (German not required).
16. A collaborative mindset: you're helpful, respectful, and enjoy sharing knowledge
17. Ability to context switch, work through ambiguity, and contribute across multiple workstreams
18. You lead by example, mentor others, and embrace a culture of safe experimentation and continuous improvement
