Job summary
Through the supervision and oversight of the QA Manager support the coordination and maintenance of the School’s quality assurance processes and as part of the wider Registry team provide administrative support for a wide range of activities and projects working closely with the Registrar and other members of the Senior Management Team including the Director of Education as well as Programme Leaders and members of Faculty.
Key purpose of the role
Quality Assurance – Coordinate the updating of programme and unit/module documentation prior to the beginning of the academic year ensuring compliance with the documentary requirements of the relevant IML and/or validating body templates. Administer the Recognised Tutor Scheme (RTS) including liaising with the relevant validating partner where required in connection with the administration of the formal approval of academic faculty. Assist with relevant Quality Assurance processes for External Examiners, Annual Quality Monitoring, programme Validation, review and programme modification in accordance the requirements set out in the Quality Assurance Handbook
Student Engagement - Working closely with Student’ Representatives and the Academic Student Governor on different projects (including elections, student representatives’ induction, students’ voice, feedback, etc.) to ensure that the students’ expectations are met and the overall academic and social experience is delivered at the highest level possible.
Policies and Regulations – Support the QA Manager in ensuring the effective maintenance of the School’s QA processes and compliance with the regulations and requirements of its validating partner and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Documentation – Ensure relevant quality assurance documentation is kept up to date and correctly archived at all times. Upload all the relevant documentation on the students’ portal and shared with tutors.
Committee Administration- Act as Secretary to designated Committees including the Programme Committees and the Learning, Teaching and Assessment Committee ensuring the prompt circulation of agenda and papers and maintain accurate status reports of actions. Also act as minute secretary to a wide range of formal meetings including student disciplinary and appeals hearings.
Office Administrative Support- provide administrative support to the Registrar and DAP Project Manager for specific activities and projects and organise a wide range of meetings, catering and hospitality.
Other Activities- Participate and contribute to important academic and corporate events including graduation and student and tutor induction.
Any other reasonable duties commensurate with level of the post.
Education and skills
* Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree is desirable
* Previous experience working in a similar role in UK higher education including experience of acting as secretary to committees and a wide range of meetings and working groups.
* Ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with previous experience of minuting formal committees
* Knowledge and experience of applying the QAA Quality Code and OfS regulatory requirements relating to quality and standards.

* Ability to work independently
* High level of IT literacy
* Interest in and basic knowledge of Fashion & Design is desirable
