Due to our everincreasing clientportfolio and the continuing development of our arboriculturaldepartment we are looking to appoint an istant ArboriculturalConsultant within the Derby and Sheffield area who is startingtheir career.
The position provides the rightcandidate with an ideal opportunity to be a part of a highlymotivated team who provide a broad mix of technical advice to adiverse range of clients covering development projects across allaspects of arboriculture. Our team undertakes tree surveys andprepare Arboricultural Impact essments in accordance with BS5837:Trees in Relation to Design Demolition and ConstructionRecommendations. They will also be involved in projects coveringthe preparation of Woodland Management Plans Veteran Tree essmentsNHBC Surveys and Tree Risk and Benefit essments for management oftrees.
Principalresponsibilities/key duties:
* To undertake tree surveys for a range of developmentapplications and construction projects (to BS 5837:2012);
* ist with carrying out tree health surveyshazard essments visual tree inspection and risk essment surveys;
* Prepare Tree Survey Plans and including TreeProtection Plans;
* ist with a range ofreporting including Arboricultural Impact essments andArboricultural od Statements;
* Collatinginformation to ist with advice on a broad range of arboriculturalissues for a range of clients; and
* Undertakeon site construction supervision where retained trees are beingprotected.
Ss andExperience:
The candidate may notnecessarily have a background in consultancy but must have a pionfor trees and ideally experience in a related environmental subjectsuch as:
* Treesurgery/Arboriculture/Forestry
* Ecology/Conservation/Habitat Management
* Planning/Local Authority
* Surveying/Engineering
Ideally the istant ArboriculturalConsultant candidate will:
* Have aLevel 2 or higher qualification in arboriculture or equivalentenvironmental discipline;
* Have excellent treeidentification ss;
* Have a good level ofwritten English;
* Enjoy working outside at alltimes of year but also work within an office;
* Have a professional attitude being punctualselfdisciplined and having an ability to proactively manage theirtime to required working deadlines;
* Have apion for Arboriculture and sustainable environmental design;
* Have computer literacy with experience of MSWord and Excel; and
* Hold a current UK drivinglicence and access to own vehicle.
Desirable ss and experience:
* Membership of a relevant professional ociation/body suchas the Arboricultural ociation Royal Forestry Society or Instituteof Chartered Foresters;
* Knowledge ofGIS/AutoCAD systems would be advantageous but training will beprovided;
* Experience of technical reportwriting including Arboricultural Impact essments and Arboriculturalod Statements;
* Experience of undertaking treehazard surveys and surveys in accordance with BS5837:2012; and
* A working knowledge of practical treemanagement and working practices.
