An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x band 5 operational services managers for the emergency and acute medicine directorate.
You will assist the Directorate Management Senior Team, as directed by the Directorate Manager / Matron in the efficient and effective operational management of resources within Emergency Medicine in order to deliver continually improving high quality patient care within the resources available.
These posts are full time and based on site.
Main duties of the job
Some of the key duties of the role include:
* Manage Medical Secretarial staff to ensure efficient and effective support is provided to the relevant clinical specialty on a daily basis.
* Oversee rotas including reception, progress chaser, HALO.
* Line management of progress chasers.
* Monitor sickness absence, Statutory and Mandatory training and PDRs in accordance with Trust Policy and ensure regular reporting is provided.
* Support with medical staffing enquiries and rota coverage.
* Work closely with the Directorate to ensure new policies, training, agreed working practices and audit are implemented on a timely basis.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
* Educated to a degree level or relevant experience
* Diploma/ Degree in management or health-related subject
Training and experience
* 2 Years experience of working in an acute trust in a management role
* Ability to use trust patient admin systems
* Operational management skills
* Knowledge of workforce planning
* Knowledge of the business planning process
* Experience of management of change issues
* Experience in introducing innovative practice
Personal Qualities
* Ability to travel and work across multiple sites
* Consistently professional, collaborative and compassionate in their approach.
* Takes responsibility and is accountable for delivering to their agreed objectives
