Job Description
This is a fixed term post until 31/03/2025.
This is a term-time, part time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.
A vacancy have arisen for a Catering Assistant within the Vale of Leven Academy. The post holder will require to assist in the day today operational requirements of the catering service within this premise as required.
Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, compliance with all the relevant legislation as required and setting up / clearing away equipment for food service. The post holder’s duties will include general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.
The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislation would be an advantage as would previous experience in this type of work.
The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
