Thales have an exciting opportunity based at its Crawley site and are looking to recruit an experienced Systems Engineering Manager to lead and continue the development of our world leading, high assurance and highly regulated product capability. You will have a proven track record of developing, motivating and listening to your high skill experts to achieve best in market levels of productivity, whilst meeting strict time to revenue objectives in such a manner that both Thales and other stakeholders have confidence that the outcomes you are responsible for will be delivered. You'll be expected to deliver this leadership across a diverse product portfolio of secure products that must operate from cradle to grave in a very highly contested information space. Your track record must show that you are capable of developing and maintaining the unique skills within the team which are necessary to operate in this area whilst growing the team to align with a transformational vision. To do this you would be expected to demonstrate your understanding of how to best combine the aspects of product development, research, influence including standardisation and where necessary ‘loaning’ members of the team to develop / maintain know-how in order to maintain the world leading capability Key Responsibilities Operate within the parameters of the Security Management Plan governing these activities ensuring at all times that the team and its activities operate within and are compliant with the ‘Development and Manufacturing Security Plan. Ensure that standards necessary to operate are met e.g. CKCS including supporting as necessary external audits. Maintain a highly skilled team, engineering and security environment to deliver portfolio products within a highly regulated environment where cyber threats are a daily fact of life. Ensure that team is structured for growth foreseeing how that team will support the revenue and profit opportunities currently being agreed. Ensure that stakeholders within Thales UK are confident of the performance to cost, time and security, ensuring necessary information to substantiate this confidence is available. Ensure that stakeholders external to Thales UK are confident of the availability to time and quality of the artefacts on which they rely. Provide coaching and technical support to the team. Support peer reviews of others work and generation of materials for major gate reviews for their own work. Ideally we are looking for: A self-motivated engineering professional with experience in bringing to market products in highly regulated, time and cost conscious markets. Experience in running teams that may be using tools that include Visual Studio, IBM DOORS, IBM Rhapsody, GIT, Jira, Jenkins, C++, C, static analysis tools such as Klockwork or Coverity, RTOS/OS such as FreeRTOS or SysGo. Experience working within teams in an Agile environment with exposure to Continuous Integration and desirably Continuous Deployment. Experience of CHERI, T1 cyber threats and countermeasures, protecting IPR and know how.
