Job Title: Residential Children’s Worker
Location: Stoke
Salary: £24,440 + Sleeps (£31,356 total) with a c.£1500 increase in April 2025
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay Per Sleep: £50 per sleep
Service: Children’s Home
Service Users: YPs with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR Level 3/4 Equivalent And / OR at least 25% completed (Level 3 in Health and Social Care will not be considered)
Experience in Years Required: 1 year in a Ofsted Children's Registered Home (preferred)

* Type of YPs: Young people with EBD or HSB (depending on the home you are shortlisted for, as there are several EBD and HSB homes in Stoke).

Essential Job Requirements:

* Maintain accurate records and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly.
* Demonstrate commitment to training and professional development.

* Be confident in using Microsoft Office (or willing to learn).
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins.
* Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance required.
Desirable Attributes:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
* Knowledge of relevant legislation for Children’s Homes.
* Experience with Ofsted inspections.
* Understanding of attachment and trauma in young people.
