We are looking for a skilled and experienced Capital Works Surveyor/Building Surveyor to join our Estates Team. Location:
We are recruiting two Capital Works Surveyors to join our growing Estates Team:
1. South Region: Based around Bournemouth/Southampton, covering the South East, South Wales, the M5 corridor, the Midlands, and the South Coast.
2. North Region: Based around Stoke-on-Trent/Manchester, covering the North, the Midlands, and North Wales.
About the Role
As a Capital Works Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of delivering capital investment projects across our diverse and growing property portfolio within our Education/School setting. This role is key to maintaining and enhancing the environments that allow us to deliver outstanding care.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
* Leading and delivering capital investment projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
* Conducting building surveys and ensuring properties comply with statutory regulations and quality standards.
* Preparing schedules of work, managing contracts, and overseeing the tender process.
* Collaborating with internal teams and external contractors to deliver effective property solutions.
* Addressing complex building and compliance challenges in a fast-paced environment.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Experienced: You have a strong track record in a similar role, managing capital works and maintenance projects across complex estates.
* Qualified: Degree-level or equivalent professional qualifications in a relevant field.
* Knowledgeable: A solid understanding of construction processes, statutory compliance, building control, and contracts.
* Organised and Analytical: You have excellent attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* A Team Player: You’re resilient, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
* Flexible: You’re comfortable traveling across the Midlands and nationally, with occasional overnight stays.
