Senior Commissioning Engineer
Salary from £51,240 per annum plus strong benefits package and excellent career progression opportunities/support.

Job Purpose Statement
Do you want the opportunity to be part of a Global organisation working on the planning of Major Projects?
Being a highly competent Engineer, you will confidently review and deliver Protection and Control Tests and Commissioning for transmission networks (132kV and above) with Health & Safety at the forefront.
You will be the technical support to the project team, advising on all matters concerning the design, construction and testing on systems and will feel confident to lead the technical resolution of site issues.
Reviewing necessary basic and detailed commissioning programs, test specifications and innovation, effective technical support, advice and input throughout the projects will be a key part of your role.
As you will be overseeing the commissioning work performed by contractors, you will have sound knowledge of the necessary steps required at each test.
What you'll be doing
* Ensuring the projects (air/gas insulated substations, protections and control, overhead lines and underground cables, transformer replacements, reactors and compensators) are designed, tested and commissioned according to UK and international normative, in a defined time, in accordance SPEN, NG STCP 19.4
* Play a key interface role between all stakeholders participating in the Commissioning Process.
* With your excellent communication skills, you will confidently communicate with people of all levels in a project, communicating information in a manner understood by all parties.
* Preparing and coordinating the Asset Data, and advise on construction, switching and outage programmes where required in relation to Commissioning
* Preparation and review of detailed commissioning programmes
* Verifying the commissioning tests and procedures detailing the process to be followed in each test of the different equipment
* Minimise variations of the program and review contractor's milestones and confirm accuracy
* Provide support when required to Transmission Operations team in field works
What you'll bring
* Experience in design and commissioning for substations, transmission lines, or power plants
* Technical degree in Engineering
* Proven ability to work in a team environment
* Experience in an office environment along with computer and Microsoft applications knowledge
* Health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to construction projects particularly CDM
* Customer liaison abilities
* Knowledge on main safety regulations concerning the commissioning works
* Proven ability to deal with the different parties that are involved in a project
Minimum Criteria
* Experience in design and commissioning for major substation and transmission lines projects (both fields electrical and protection works)
* Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline
* Valid driving license
