You will be joining a leading multi-billion dollar company in the food ingredients sector with sites located across the globe. They thrive on creativity and innovation by embracing new technologies to push the boundaries of food science.
As the Lead Engineer you’ll be supporting the site Engineering Manager. You’ll be responsible for:
1. Allocating, co-ordinating, and evaluating all shift Engineering work tasks to ensure that maximum value and compliance is extracted from the team.
2. Supervising the Engineering team and providing relief legal duty holder cover for the Engineering Manager.
3. Managing the asset management system and carrying out risk assessments.
4. Liaising with external contractors and ensuring that all permit-to-work documents are completed to the required standard.
5. Analysing breakdown information and controlling the Engineering Stores function.
6. Leading and supporting on Projects while adhering to the required Quality, Food Safety, Health and Safety and Company Policies.
We’re looking for someone with:
1. A time-served Engineering Apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience in a similar role working in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including continuous processes and batch processes – preferably within the food manufacturing sector.
3. A practical hands-on approach, along with significant experience of working with a maintenance background, covering electrical and mechanical fault finding.
4. Qualifications and training including 17th/18th Edition wiring and PLC fault finding.
5. Knowledge of planned maintenance systems and procedures development.
6. Well-developed management and leadership skills – being a true team player with the ability to implement continuous improvement schemes.
The salary is up to £53,000 to £58,500 per annum, with:
* 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
* 2x salary death in benefit service
* Health care cash plan
The hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm (as the site runs 24/7 you may have to work outside usual hours on occasion).
